Our testing team at the Master Technician Consumer Testing Lab recently evaluated the Antsig RJ45 Crimping Tool 4P / 6P / 8P to assess its performance and usability. Unfortunately, our results were disappointing, and we would not recommend this product for any application.
We used the official Antsig CAT6 passthrough plugs and the official Antsig CAT6 cable in our testing, following the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure accurate results. However, our findings were a far cry from what we expected. The tool consistently failed to properly terminate the pins of the RJ45 connector, resulting in failed connections.
In fact, our testing revealed that the tool also failed to strip the cable successfully even being super careful, with only one successful termination out of five attempts. The cable tensioner on the plug also snapped off in nearly every crimp, and the blades were prone to damage.
The results were inconsistent with the positive reviews from a few reviewers, who mentioned that the tool worked well with pass-through connectors. However, for standard RJ45 connectors, the tool’s performance was subpar. We found it failed when using the official Antsig plugs and CAT6 cable.
We would not recommend this product to anyone seeking a reliable and easy-to-use crimping tool. The quality and performance issues we encountered far outweigh any potential cost savings. For consumers looking for a reliable crimping tool, we recommend exploring other options that meet the relevant standards and provide consistent performance.
